Follow-up Questions
Here are some samples of other questions the examiner could make regarding the cue card during your third speaking section: "Describe a famous person that you are interested in."
1. What types of people are famous in your country?
Bollywood stars and cricketers are both quite well-known in my own country, but there are many other individuals who have achieved something in life and have gained popularity. Many people aspire to be like them because the majority of these people serve as role models. As a result, in my country, celebrities belong to those who can attract large audiences.
2. How do people become famous nowadays?
When someone achieves something that other regular people have not done before, they become popular. Some movie stars are well-known due to their success at the box office. Some singers have achieved fame as a result of their vocal skills. Politicians get fame for their oratory abilities. Another group of well-known people are those who have gained popularity through misconduct.
3. What is the difference between people who were famous earlier and those who are famous now?
A few decades ago, people were famous for achieving something or having made an invention. Some people were famous for their sacrifice or their kindness, like Mother Teresa. Nowadays, many people are famous simply because they are the offspring of famous people or because of their dressing sense or singing abilities.
4. What qualities do famous people have in common?
Every popular personality has a public draw; they all possess a skill or attraction that may draw large numbers. Some well-known people are exceptionally intelligent, such as Shakuntala Devi, a well-known mathematician. However, there is one thing that is certain: a famous person must always be modest and grounded.
5. What do you think about nepotism among famous people?
Nepotism is the practice of using one's position of authority to benefit one's family and friends. After Sushant Singh Rajput's passing, a controversy about nepotism recently emerged in Bollywood. In basic terms, nepotism was a constant among the rich and famous since many politicians or celebrities wanted to utilize their position to offer their kids a chance to succeed. Even in ancient times, the monarchs and Nawabs would put their loved ones in highchairs. Therefore, nepotism remained wherever there was fame.
