Model Answer 1:

Well, to be honest, for getting entertained, reading books is not my cup of tea. So, I usually prefer to read when I have to get some important information related to my work or studies.

When you read it:

However, I have been reading a book for the last few months about a famous personality known as Elon Musk.

Actually, I started reading this book because I was not doing very well at my studies, and that is why I got disappointed in my life.

What kind of book is it:

At that time, one of my friends suggested a book 'Ups and Downs, based on Elon Musk's life struggles.

After the suggestion of my friend, I started to read this book and found my interest in reading it.

What is it about:

Despite being based on struggles, that book is quite entertaining and exciting. That book shows me how Elon Musk, who is now the richest man in the world, started from nothing.

He had failed in many businesses, but he did not let him stop doing innovations. As a result, he achieved success in his life.

This book shows that even after losing 30–40 billion dollars, He did not give up and kept trying.

Why you think it is interesting:

Therefore, I still read that book whenever I get free time, and it helped me to be motivated to live life in a joyful way.

So, all in all, that is an exciting book that I enjoy reading.

Model Answer 2:

I love to read, so I have a habit of reading a variety of novels. I read books to educate myself whenever I have free time.

However, here I would like to talk about an exciting book that I enjoy reading.

When you read it:

Last year, the coronavirus Pandemic caused lockdown conditions in my nation. I became depressed since I had nothing to do while I was at home.

I made numerous attempts to get out of it, but they were all useless. At that time, I received a book from renowned self-improvement author Mr. Dale Carnegie as a gift from one of my friends. "How to stop worrying and start living" was the title of the book.

What kind of book is it:

It is a self-improvement book that teaches you the ideal methods for removing stress from your life.

What is it about:

Dealing with depression in our daily lives is the topic of this book. The author of this book claims that it is challenging to concentrate on work while under stress. And as a result, we are less productive at work. Therefore, simply worrying about anything doesn't benefit us and instead puts us on the wrong path.

Furthermore, he asserts that worrying about the past or the future is useless. We ought to live in the here and now. If we can learn from our past, it will be beneficial for us.

But if we think about the past too much, depression will eventually set in.

Making plans for the future is beneficial as far as it is concerned. However, if one wants to live a fulfilling life in the future, they shouldn't sacrifice the present.

Why you think it is interesting:

This book excites me because we live on excitement when we have fewer problems and more happiness in our lives. By causing a paradigm shift in our way of thinking, this book increases our enjoyment.

It helped me recover from boredom and sadness. I've been living life to the fullest because of its helpful contributions. I always resolve conflicts in my life skillfully.

So, all in all, that is an exciting book that I enjoy reading.

Follow-up Questions

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that the examiner can ask you during your speaking part 3 related to the cue card: "Describe an exciting book that you enjoy reading."

1. Do you prefer books or movies?

Movies, in my opinion, can never express the depth of feeling and detail that books can. I always choose to read books instead of watching movies. Finding time to read books is difficult, though. I still watch movies occasionally.

                                    OR

I don't have much time to read these days, so I would rather watch a movie. Additionally, a movie's visual and audio storytelling techniques alone make it interesting. The story appears realistic thanks to the skilled actors. It can be difficult at times to imagine all of these things from a book.

2. Do you think it is important to read the book before watching the movie version of it?

Actually, no. There are some excellent movie adaptations. Even though many of my friends haven't read the Game of Thrones books, they still liked the TV adaptation. In the end, it is up to the individual's preferences and time availability.

                                   OR

No, you won't enjoy the movie if you read the book before seeing it. Like in the novel, everything is described in such detail that it cannot be covered in a movie. The book goes into great information about a story, while the movie is more superficial. Therefore, it is not necessary to read the book first; you may see the movie and understand the main plot points.

3. Do boys and girls like the same kinds of books?

I've noticed certain variations between the magazines that boys and girls read. For instance, I frequently observe girls reading fashion publications, but I hardly ever observe boys doing so. However, I don't believe there is a significant difference when it comes to books.

4. Which kinds of books do Indian people like to read?

According to me, reading preferences are not influenced by nationality. It depends on the reader's preferences and the particular book. For instance, Harry Potter is well-known throughout the world since it is a wonderful novel. Although I believe it was written with kids in mind, I have seen many adults identify as Potterheads.

                       OR

Because Indians are so spiritual and religious, they enjoy reading historical, fiction, and religious novels. They read this kind of literature because they have stronger cultural ties. In India, books about gods and their lives are extremely popular.
