Model Answer 1:

I have attended so many English sessions in my life during my schooling; some are related to my academic studies, while some are not.

And Today, I would like to talk about an English lecture that I enjoyed.

When did you take the class:

During 11th grade, there was a summer camp in the month of June, and my school provided English classes for 25 days, which were optional.

Where it was:

The classes were conducted in the school auditorium. I had also attended these classes.

What was taught in the class:

In those classes, we taught about sentence formation, writing, speaking, and vocabulary building. The first two days of classes ran normally and were boring. But, on the third day, a new teacher came into our class to take our lecture, whose name is Mrs. Sonu, and she really made that class very interesting and enjoyable. That lecture lasted for around 3 hours. She taught us sentence formation and vocabulary building.

What did the teacher do that made you enjoy it:

On that day, a number of recreational activities were executed, which made that lecture more enjoyable. One of which was that she divided the class into 4 groups with 7 students each and played us a game in which she gave us some words and we had to make a sentence from them instantly without thinking so much about their proper meaning. And the group that made the most correct sentences would be the winner and get a box of chocolates.

Honestly speaking, we really enjoyed that class, and everybody played that game and took part attentively to lose another group.

At the end, she gave us some grammar tricks and vocabulary words with their usage, and we requested that she take another class as well.

So, all in all, that was an English lecture that I really enjoyed.

Model Answer 2:

English is a language that is widely used nowadays. Knowing how to speak English is a requirement for all professions and academic fields. For someone to succeed in this world, they must be proficient in the English language. If not taken seriously, learning a language can be challenging, so someone who wants to learn English should be very interested in doing so.

And here, I would like to talk about an English lecture that I enjoyed.

When did you take the class:

I recently completed my further education, and since I plan to continue my higher education abroad, I decided to enroll in English language classes at a well-known academy in my hometown.

What was taught in the class:

In these classes, we learn the English language from the basics, starting with the language's grammar and several modules including reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The hardest modules are taught in a funny way by my teacher, who is an expert in language pedagogy.

Where it was:

I've enrolled in a well-liked English class at a reputable language institute with top academic infrastructure, amenities, and facilities. Each and every module is taught by an expert. A practice exam is given to each student after each lesson to measure their academic progress.

What did the teacher do that made you enjoy it:

By utilizing several teaching strategies and regularly conducting brainstorming sessions with all of the students, the teacher kept the class extremely entertained. Every student has the opportunity to speak and write on the subject because the group discussions on each topic are so productive. There are lectures on numerous subjects, and the class discusses and shares a wealth of information. These exercises bring the lecture to life and make it amazing. Additionally, our teacher performs word games to teach us English vocabulary in an engaging way.

So, all in all, that was an English lecture that I really enjoyed.

Follow-up Questions

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that the examiner can ask you during your speaking part 3 related to the cue card: "Describe an English class or lesson that you enjoyed."

1. What are the benefits of learning a foreign language?

Learning a foreign language has a lot of advantages. First and foremost, it benefits children academically because the skills they pick up in one language—such as comprehension and identifying a paragraph's main idea—can be applied in the other. Second, it creates additional potential future opportunities. For instance, it may enable students to pursue higher education abroad. The same is true for finding employment in a business that works with customers around the globe.

2. What are the benefits of being a foreign language teacher?

The fundamental advantage of teaching a language is that the student can improve their language skills. I believe that teaching a language rather than studying it is the best way for individuals to learn about it.

Second, those who speak foreign languages frequently earn more money and have the chance to travel. Finally, I believe that the age diversity in the language classes is the greatest. I've witnessed people as old as 70 pick up languages like French and German. As a result, teaching a foreign language is never boring because students are exposed to a variety of people.

3. Will computers replace foreign language teachers in the future?

I believe computers are undoubtedly helpful in assisting students in learning a foreign language. Computers cannot, in my opinion, entirely replace language teachers. However, computers can't help students develop or express ideas; they can only help them with grammar and pronunciation. Additionally, I believe that a teacher is the only person who can teach the cultural qualities of a language.

4. Is grammar the most difficult part of learning a foreign language?

No, I don't believe grammar is the most challenging part because there are grammar rules. I believe it to be logical, so practice will help you learn it. However, because there are no fixed rules for pronunciation, it can be extremely challenging.

5. Do you think grammar is important in language learning?

Yes, I agree that grammar is important to learning a language. Incorrect grammar can cause a statement to convey a completely different meaning, which can cause confusion and disappointment.

For instance, just being present in the middle of something drastically alters the meaning if I am taught completely distinct things.

6. What makes a good foreign language teacher?

I believe that a good foreign language teacher should be fluent in both their native and foreign languages. They should be quite knowledgeable about the vocabulary and grammar. Additionally, the language educator needs to have patience with their students.
